Let us all bow our heads...

My iBook has died. I am at the new Apple store in Pioneer Place right now, and the Genius Bar fellow is preparing the paperwork to send it off to get repaired. It looks like the logic board, but it might be the hard drive.

Which would suck, since it's been probably 2 months since I backed everything up.

Take this as a warning - go back up your date RIGHT NOW!

PS to [info]nmaki: I keep meaning to email you an invite list. Obviously that isn't going to happen this weekend. And most of my addresses are on the iBook! Not sure what to do, but I'll try to call you....

I'm so sorry; I hope it's all recoverable and doesn't take long to get it back! Ironically, just over a week ago I had thought of posting a "Backup Your Data" reminder on my journal, but held off because I had this image of my friends rolling their eyes at Evan on his soapbox again. I do better when I listen to my intuition rather than my anxieties....

But you're so cute when you get up on your soapbox!

Keeping my fingers crossed that it's not the hard-drive -- or if it is, that it's the hard-drive in a data-recoverable sort of way...

(Back up? But my blank CDs are all the way over there, and I'm all the way over here...)

Hm. After the fate-tempting of that wise-crack, I really better back-up!
